my brain spilled on this page today
Sometimes I wonder about the cosmic forces that make me turn on a movie when I do. When it seems that a certain moment or quote of that movie has a direct effect on the particular time in my life that I’m watching it. The logical side of me says that it’s just me finding what i need to hear and I can do that in any TV show or movie at any time. But, at the same time, I wonder if the universe is really trying to guide me.
Sucker Punch was an okay movie. I mean, I love to see chicks being badass, but the story itself was a little more, or less?, than I anticipated. I wasn’t impressed.
The movie ended with this quote:
“Who honors those we love with the very life we live? Who sends monsters to kill us, and at the same time sings that we’ll never die? Who teaches us what’s real, and how to laugh at lies? Who decides why we live, and what we’ll die to defend? Who chains us, and who holds the key to set us free? It’s you. You have all the weapons you need. Now fight!”
Life isn’t always what we hope or dream it to be. We have a lot of struggles to overcome. And sometimes, it feels like we’ll never make it. It feels like the mountains are too high to climb and and the air is too thin. With every step up, it hurts a little more. We think we’ll never reach the top. We’ll never get to the other side of the mountain where it’s sunshine and green grass.
But the truth is, we made that mountain as high as it is. Maybe we brought the wrong equipment to climb it. Maybe we didn’t anticipate how harsh the climate would be. But we can keep climbing. We can use what we have. We can stop making excuses. We can stop holding ourselves back and press on. Because that’s all we can do.
We can fight.

I actually liked the movie because I’m a big nerd that loves video games. Also I just loved the sound track.
But the best part was definitely the quote at the end. It left an impression in me too.
