my brain spilled on this page today

So this was my day. How was yours?

On the way home from Target today, a woman in the opposite lane had a seizure and hit us head on. 

DON’T WORRY!! Everyone is ok. The kids were both in the car with me, but my husband was not as he was on the way home from Ohio at the time. I’ve got a little bit of a headache and Dom has a little brush burn from the seat belt. That was the worst of our injuries.

Thankfully, I saw she was doing something weird and was pretty much stopped before she hit me. There was a Mustang behind me that I was sandwiched between. He had the good sense of mind to spin away, hop out of his car and try to hop in hers to stop. Unfortunately, I pulled away before he could. She took off down the road and crashed into a pole…I’m assuming pretty hard from how fast her car took off. And the fact that it took the pole down. I’m not sure yet if she’s ok. I hope so. Can you imagine having a seizure driving? 

It was a crazy fucking day. So now I have no money, no job AND no car. 

But the one thing I do have is 2 kids that are safe and sound and in one fucking piece and THAT is the real blessing of the day. 

Also? Faith in humanity restored. People swarmed our car trying to find out if we were ok. A nurse in scrubs checked out my kids. 2 girls ran over saying they were certified in first aid if we needed help. The guy behind me took off running down the road to try to catch the girl having the seizure. Another girl, not involved, stayed with me the entire time until it was over. Told me she would stay until I was ok and had a ride home. The police officer was incredibly nice, friendly, even funny (and HOT) …totally cool. Tow truck driver, cool. Insurance girl that I called in the claim to, very sweet, attentive, even sympathetic. 

Shit was fucked up, but people were cool today. So there’s that.
